Dr. Alessi Rispoli received his Doctorate of Optometry with a Clinical Excellence Award from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1984. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in New York. He is a past President of the Rhode Island Optometric Association and served on the Ethics Committee for the American Optometric Association. He was appointed by Governor Lincoln Almond to the RI Board of Examiners in Optometry serving as a board member and Chairman from 1987-2005.
In 2022, Dr. Rispoli was awarded as one of America’s Best Eye Doctors by Newsweek, ranking at #159.
Drs. Alessi and Katherine Rispoli have been board-certified by the American Board of Optometry since September 2013.
The American Board of Optometry (ABO) is a certificate of achievement for advanced optometric practice. They have demonstrated their ability to deliver quality eye care that exceeds entry-level requirements through a rigorous board examination. They are dedicated to their commitment to life-long learning by their Maintenance of Certification, which requires additional hours of education compared to a standard license.
